Introductory Statement & Welcome from Principal:
Clonmoney National School is located just off the N18 motorway adjacent to Bunratty and Shannon town. Our school is in the parish of Newmarket-On-Fergus, but its catchment area includes the parishes also of Sixmilebridge, Shannon, and Cratloe.
Our school has 7 mainstream classes and the building has been extended with new classrooms in recent years due to the increasing pupil numbers. Our modern school includes all classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards and computers, a laptop trolley with 30 convertible Chromebook devices, a well-equipped library, an Astroturf & hurling wall, and a playing pitch. Our Board of Management continues to strive to provide the best possible educational facilities for all our pupils to enhance their learning experience. As schools continue to evolve in a rapidly changing modern world, the provision of IT skills are vital for all children. All classes are taught these skills through the use of platforms of Seesaw in junior classes and Google Classroom in senior rooms.
A key aspect in ensuring all our pupils develop their gifts and talents is our highly dedicated and professional staff. We strive to always be welcoming, caring, and committed to academic excellence as well as offering a wide range of extra-curricular activities such as sport, traditional music & ICT. Having a harmonious relationship with home and school is also our priority. We always welcome your input and suggestions, as parents in terms of what is best for your child. Furthermore, we pride ourselves on having regular and efficient communication via email, texts, newsletters, our website, and social media.
Our target is that all the children of Clonmoney National School feel happy, safe, and reach their full potential.
If you have any queries about our school, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to ongoing, fruitful collaboration and your continued support in the future.

Mission Statement
Our aim is to set high standards and expectations to help all members of the school community achieve the best in everything they do and work towards reaching their full potential.
To fulfil this, we will:
- Maintain a safe, open and friendly environment within which pupils are encouraged to develop a love of learning and to become confident, independent and lifelong learners and to work to the best of their ability.
- Provide equal opportunities for all our children and encourage them to be proud of their own culture, religion and language and to show mutual respect for those of others, in accordance with our Catholic Ethos.
- Work together in a positive partnership with parents and the Board of Management and to contribute to the quality and development of our local community.
- Our pupils are encouraged to value themselves and each other in an atmosphere of trust, good humour, and enjoyment.
Staff/Parent Charter:
The Staff of Clonmoney National School are committed to speaking to each other and to parents/guardians respectfully.
Our care principles are:
- We care enough to create the space to give feedback as soon as needed to one another in a spirit of safety and trust.
- We care enough to listen if one of us needs an ear.
- We care enough to model respect within our whole school community and to promote a language of rights and responsibilities at all times.
- We care enough to promote caring parental engagement within the school setting at all times.
- We care enough to support our ethos of No Anger, No Blame when dealing with issues of a bullying nature within the school setting. This means that we promote respectful calm communication between parents and teachers.
- We care enough to stop any communications between parent and teacher which may be of a blameful and angry nature and make alternative arrangements for communication when there has been time for calm reflection.
