Music
Traditional music is both promoted and practiced regularly in our school. We have many very talented musicians among our school community. We also have a very high proportion of children who play a wide variety of musical instruments, including the fiddle, banjo, accordion, tin whistle, flute, guitar, concertina, drums and many more. We part take in many parish and diocesan events such as parish sacraments as well as concerts in UL, Ennis and around the county. Our pupils are encouraged to practice for solo and group playing by our teachers Mrs Crimmins and Ms O’Sullivan.

Community Games - Model Making Competition
In the next few weeks, the community games will run a competition for model making. Below are some photos of models made by pupils of Clonmoney NS last year. Each model should be themed to the Community Games- a list of the very wide range of activities is on the Community Games website. Hurling, football, swimming, cycling and ‘variety’ figure regularly in model making.
The models are usually made of plasticine or playdough.
Hint: A small cocktail stick can help to hold on arms or legs on and some people even bring hotwater bottles to keep their plasticine soft, or a garlic press to make hair!
The Newmarket on Fergus model making competition is for U10, U12, & U14. Collection from schools is Tuesday 20th January.Exhibit must have the Community Games theme and include name, age, date of birth and address. €2 per entry.
The Sixmilebridge local competition will be held on Wednesday 21st 6-8pm. The children need to bring their own materials along with a board or base for the model – e.g. a cutting board or piece of wood.
