Partnerships
In Clonmoney NS we have developed strong relationships with local sports clubs and organisations. Our parents and Parents Association provide invaluable help with organising school activities and fundraising.
GAA Coaching - Newmarket on Fergus GaA
Every Tuesday coach Éanna Crimmins puts children from each class through their paces. Éanna’s coaching puts huge emphasis on fundamental movement skills and games.
Yoga with Gillian
Our infant classes are enjoying weekly yoga classes with Gillian Coyle. Gillian is a parent in our school and the children love her fun and imaginative classes.
Playground
Our fundraising initiative called the ‘Club 300 draw’ has garnered huge support from our school community. Huge thanks to Paula Carr for organising the fundraiser. We also recieved a very generous donation from EI Electronics in Shannon towards our playground equipment project. An excellent example of our school, parents, Board of Management and local business working together to improve the experiences of our children. Part 2 of the project will be completed in the near future.
what club are you in?
The children from our active committee conducted a survey in their classes to see what clubs and activities the children were involved in. They did a collage of all the different clubs and its very clear to see the children are very active in a wide range of activities. 3rd/4th classes designed their own jerseys after the survey.
Safer Routes to School
We succesfully applied for funding under the ‘Safer Routes to School’ scheme. The fantastic response to ‘Bike Week’ in recent years demonstrated the willingness of our pupils to cycle to school given the oppertunity. Making the access to our school safer will hopefully encouage more students to walk and cycle to school. The local council are currently putting traffic calming measures in place after much lobbying from the school’s Board of Management.
Clare Sports Partnership
We have recieved fantastic support from Clare Sports Partnership in recent years. Many thanks to Marion Rodgers of CSP for communicating the range of resources available. Clonmoney have participated in a number of activities run by CSP such as Active Homework Challenge Cards, Active Storytime and Sportshall Athletics Packs.
